Dead On: A True Crime Podcast

The Gitchie Manitou Murders + Mary Vincent

Emily Eha and Elisha Denza Episode 19

In this special badass woman survivor episode, Emily discusses the senseless murders of 4 teenage boys and the rape of one of their girl friends while hanging out in the Gitchie Manitou State Preserve in Lyon County, Iowa in 1973. Then Elisha tells us about the spectacular tale of survival of a 15-year old hitchhiker who was raped and attacked with a hatchet in Del Puerto Canyon, California in 1978.

Photos from both cases are up on our social media if you’re a visual person (like we are) and need to see where the crime went down. You can also find them on our website, in the Episode Discovery file.
